About Ni'Kesia

Claim who you want to be in order to make it who you are.

That's a mantra that I've learned to live by recently.

My name is Ni'Kesia Pannell and I'm a Creative Lifestyle Connoisseur. Do I know every single thing about lifestyle? No. But it's on my list of things to do. I thought about writing a long, drawn-out bio about myself in third person like I've always done (and I might again when I feel like it), but I decided to do something a little different this time.

I am a writer. Though people will automatically group you under the blogger title, I am very comfortable with going against the grain and calling myself a writer. Not that there's anything wrong with being a blogger, but I just don't like to call myself that. I've been writing for majority of my life and just recently decided to seriously take it to the next level.

Originally, I began my writing career covering music and entertainment events for a few locally based sites and magazines out of my hometown of Orlando, Florida. From there, I was picked up by ThatGrapeJuice/SheIsDiva and ThisIsRnB.com — the latter of which I rose from a weekly contributor to assistant editor within less than two years. At the end of my second year with the prominent site, my team and I received our first Soul Train Award for "Best Entertainment/Music Website or Blog."

Since then, I have become a published children's author, written for many outlets and interviewed some pretty cool people, and created my own scripted web series centered around R&B artists titled Men Are Crazy Too. In the midst of all of that which seems successful, I've made a lot of mistakes, too, which you can hear about often on my YouTube channel and my joint podcast.

Now holding the title of managing editor at ThisIsRnB, I spend my extra time as a lifestyle writer for Romper (Bustle.com's sister site), ESSENCE, and Teen Vogue (just to name a few) working with brands to heighten their exposure, and making a few appearances to deliver all the details on the types of products you shouldn't be caught without. If you're here to view the work I've done, visit the "features" or "visuals" tabs!

Supply others with the support you wish you had.

I'm a firm believer in motivating anyone that I come in contact with. I've always felt this to be important because you never know what one positivie statement or affirmation can do for a person's day.

Each one of my posts, whether it falls under the inspiration genre or under travel, will include something positve for readers to take from it. I want everyone to feel as if they've left this site with what they're looking for. So, if you're in need of some tasty food recommendations, new places to capture neat pictures on your next travel trip, a few products that you should be spending your money on, or just a way to get through the day, I guarantee you'll find fulfillment here.

YouTube Videos & Podcasts

Your transperency is the biggest part of the testimony.

I've learned that in order to be relatable to people, you have to not be afraid to let them see the good, the bad, and the ugly. In the weekly videos and monthly joint podcasts, you'll be able to find out a little more about me, my journey, and everything that has come along with it. I'll also be giving you the deets on ways to stay encouraged, the top products on my radar at that moment, and everything else lifestyle related for you to enjoy.

As an added extra, I'll sometimes throw in a few gems on how to get things moving if you're ready to step out on your own. I'm always learning, so there's no reason why I can't share my knowledge.

Brand Collaborations

You're only as good as you believe you are.

Over the last few years, I've gotten the opportunity to work with some amazing brands in many different areas. Those brands include Steve Madden, Luc Belaire, Suja Juice, Frameri, ecbc, and Sprayground — just to mention a few. As a former PR professional, I know the importance of getting brands the viewership they need, finding ways to tap into new markets, and can deliver ideas that are just as unique and creative as my first name.
